Part of the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust (WWT),  Llanelli Wetland Centre is one of the most popular places to visit in South Wales and offers a great day out for all ages. Situated on the Northern shore of the Burry Inlet, it enjoys unrivalled views out across winding channels of beautiful saltmarsh - all the way to Penclawdd on the Gower Peninsula.

A breath-taking 450-acre mosaic of lakes, reedbeds, woods, pools and lagoons, Llanelli Wetland Centre is a vital refuge for some of the world's most spectacular birds and wetland species, many of which are rare or endangered. As the seasons change, witness the transition of migratory species and wetland landscapes - there's always something new to see! Make the most of our comfortable and accessible hides to look out for new or rare arrivals.

We also care for a large collection of some of the world’s rarest ducks, geese and swans, with many birds so friendly they will happily feed from your hand! It's a great way to relax and forget about everyday stress whilst connecting with precious wetland nature.

For energetic adventurers, we've got plenty of exciting outdoor play areas to conquer! Run to the super-wild Explore play area and challenge friends and family to a race through the obstacle course. Can you get the fastest time? Great fun in any weather - the muddier the better, we say!

You've got to fuel your adventure, so head to the Kingfisher Coffee Shop for a tasty treat. Here you will find hot and cold snacks, local specialities like Welsh cakes and Bara brith, barista-style fresh coffee and a delicious selection of teas. You can also pick up an ice cream or a light bite from our gift shop as you peruse our great selection of presents (like craft alcohol and homewares), wildlife feed, toys, books and more. The best part is that every penny you spend at our centre goes to continuing our vital wetland conservation work.

All WWT centres exist to fulfil founder Sir Peter Scott’s vision of connecting people with nature, so we make it a principle that our wetlands and wildlife are accessible to everyone. Llanelli Wetland Centre has excellent access throughout, with wide, flat paths and disabled parking close to the centre. A mobility scooter is available to hire at a cost of just £10 per day (plus a refundable deposit), so please call us to reserve the scooter for your visit.

There is free visitor parking and racks for cyclists to secure their bikes when they visit. There is also parking for coaches. Please note that the car park is locked after the centre closes at 5pm each day.
