Fowlmere Nature Reserve (SSSI, 41 ha) is a well-loved wildlife oasis set within farmland. Its former water-cress beds are now reedbed, fen, chalk grassland and scrub, while the area also holds a small but fine example of a chalk stream, one of the UKs rarest habitats.
We are always looking for enthusiastic volunteers who can help with all our visitor engagement activities, welcoming people on arrival to Fowlmere. We want people coming onto our reserve to be met with a smile and and our visitor engagement volunteers ensure that visitors' needs are understood and met to the best of their ability.
