This unique programme will run from December 2024 to April 2025.
This year, we will be asking all participants to make a contribution towards the cost of running the programme so that we can make the programme and magazine sustainable in the long run. We will try to be as fair and simple about the process and ask participants to let us know what they can afford after they’ve been accepted on the programme.
Contributions levels will be at the following levels:
£100 – full cost
£75 – for lower income and carers
£50 – for single parents, on benefits
£25 – for unemployed
Please note that all places are heavily subsidised by our ACE NPO funding. We greatly appreciate your support.
The deadline to apply for the Covert Talent Development Programme 2024-25 is approaching! Applications close on Friday, 15 November 2024, at midnight, so if you haven’t yet submitted yours, now is the time to apply.
This unique programme will run from December 2024 to April 2025 and is a great opportunity for up to 12 Black, Asian and ethnically diverse/BPOC writers in England and UK-wide to develop their writing practice with a range of professional writers, who will provide an online programme of bespoke creative writing workshops and editorial feedback and support.
The theme for Covert Literary Magazine Issue 5 is Rest Yourself, and we welcome all forms of creative expression – poetry, prose, theatrical scenes, artwork, illustrations, audio recordings and video clips for social media and in print. For this issue, we welcome Guest Editor Akila Richards and Co-Guest Editor Sea Sharp. Our Editorial Team includes Sonia Quintero, Jackie Mendoza, Georgina Aboud and Amy Zamarripa Solis.
