CanalAbility are an award-winning charity committed to providing inclusive boating experiences for individuals with a wide range of disabilities, health conditions, or anyone experiencing disadvantage. Our mission is to facilitate enjoyable river boating trips aboard our specially adapted canal boats.
Embark on a delightful 4-hour excursion and immerse yourself in the scenic beauty of the Essex and Hertfordshire countryside while exploring the tranquil River Stort. During your journey, you can try your hand at steering the boat and navigating the locks, or simply relax and soak in the sights of the flora, fauna, wildlife, and passing scenery.
Our two purpose-built broad beam boats are fully equipped with central heating and designed for accessibility, ensuring that everyone can actively participate in the boating experience throughout the year. If you have mobility challenges or use a wheelchair, our boats are tailored to meet your needs.
Each boat is equipped with ramps, lifts for wheelchair access, facilities like disabled-friendly toilets, and advanced adaptive technology. These accommodations enable individuals with impaired mobility to actively engage in operating the boats, ensuring an inclusive and enjoyable experience for all. Available for exlusive group bookings of up to 10 or 12 people.
