Walks and Trails:

Horse riding - Horse riders are welcome at Rushmere Country Park and Aspley Woods.

Cycling - Cyclists are welcome at Rushmere Country Park and Aspley Woods. Free access via public rights of way plus specialist cross country and downhill trails for use with the purchase of a Greensand Cycling Pass.

Dog walking - Responsible dog owners are welcome at Rushmere Country Park within designated areas - both on and off the lead. For everyone's safety dog walkers must abide by our on/off lead rules and pick up after their dog.

Stories on the Greensand: Lazy Jack - Lazy Jack is a Story on the Greensand set in Rushmere Country Park 200 years ago when it was open heathland grazed with sheep and cattle.

Oak Wood Sculpture Trail - The Oak Wood Sculpture Trail is an extension to the existing Sculpture Trail, aiming to encourage wider exploration in the north-west of Rushmere Country Park and includes sculptures of heathland creatures.

Sculpture Trail - Ideal for families all year round, an access for all path starting from outside the Visitor Centre - find fairy doors, wooden sculptures and have a photo taken in the Giant’s Chair!  

Attractions:

  • An ‘access for all’ Sculpture Trail where visitors can search for fairies and have a photograph in the Giant’s Chair
  • Play areas, a giant slide and play spots around the site
  • The heronry where you can watch herons raise their young in the Spring
  • A network of walking, cycling and horse-riding trails - we have free entry points into the park for cyclists but to use our specialist cycling and horse riding trails you will need to purchase a Greensand Pass.
  • Areas where dogs can be walked on and off the lead including a dog fun area specifically for our canine friends
  • Access to the Visitor Centre, toilets, the deck, Tree Tops Café, Herons Hatch, meadow for picnics and Stockgrove Visitor Centre and cafe
