The Oxford Botanic Garden is the oldest botanic garden in the UK and one of the oldest scientific gardens in the world. It was founded in 1621 as a physic garden for growing plants for medicinal research. Today, it is home to over 5,000 different plant species on 1.8 hectares of land.
It's divided into several sections, such as the Glasshouses, the Walled Garden, the Lower Garden and the Rock Garden. Each section showcases a different collection of plants, such as tropical, alpine, medicinal, aquatic and ornamental plants.
The garden also hosts various events, tours and activities throughout the year for visitors of all ages and interests.
