Kinneil Estate and Museum

If you love history, you will be amazed by the wonders of Kinneil Estate. Kinneil Museum is housed in the 17th century stable building of Kinneil House. The ground floor features an exhibition that tells the story of Bo'ness town, which was built on Roman ruins. The upper floor gallery serves as an interpretation centre for Kinneil Estate, where you can learn about Kinneil House, built by the Dukes of Hamilton, and its connections with famous names from Scottish history, such as Mary Queen of Scots and James Watt.

Kinneil Estate is rich in history, containing part of the Antonine Wall World Heritage Site and one of its fortlets, the site of the abandoned Kinneil medieval village, where only a ruined church remains, and a section of the John Muir Way, opened in 2014.
