More Information

Grosvenor Park is a historic and award-winning park that covers 20 acres and dates back to 1867. It is Chester's main ornamental park and Edward Kemp designed its layout. The park is very popular with both locals and tourists. It is located just outside the city walls and has a view of the River Dee. It is one of the best examples of Victorian parks in the UK.

The park has formal avenues with trees and statues, large lawns with ornamental shrubs and bedding plants. The park is famous for its bedding plants, which are changed twice a year to create a beautiful and colourful display in the Spring and Summer. The park has many features to see all year round, such as the Second Marquess of Westminster Statue, Billy Hobby’s Well Community Garden, St Mary’s Nunnery Arch, the Quarry Garden and more. They are either restored, new or Grade II* listed.
