A free trail for children encompassing Plymouth’s historic Barbican and with a delicious free treat at the end looks set to keep families busy during the holiday season.
Flapjackery, the iconic flapjack brand which has a shop on the Barbican, has created a quiz to encourage parents to bring their children along to discover this ancient part of Plymouth where maritime history collides with old world charm.
From old cobbled streets, to a place where the Pilgrim Fathers set sail to America more than 400 years ago, to the Spanish Armada being spotted by Sir Francis Drake from Plymouth Hoe to its proud association with the armed forces, the Barbican is a fascinating place that Flapjackery want more people to discover.
The trail takes in the sites and sounds of the Barbican with an array of questions, from colouring in Smeaton’s Tower, to discovering the actual date the Pilgrim Father’s set sail for America.
The free trail is available by popping into Flapjackery on Southside St which is open everyday from 10am until 5pm, and until 4pm on Sundays.
25 Southside St, Plymouth PL1 2LD
